FAQ

There are four species of whales that frequent the area: orcas, humpbacks, grays, and minkes.

There are 33 species of marine mammals and 172 species of birds in the area.

Orcas are here year-round! The other local species are migratory, so you have the best chance of seeing grays from February through May, humpbacks from May through November, and minkes from May through September.

You’re likely to see whales no matter what time of day you go out! Whales can travel up to 100 miles in a single day, so many times what we see on the morning trip will be completely different than the afternoon trip.

Our tours are 3-4 hours in length. However, in order to provide the best possible experience, we reserve the right to extend up one hour if necessary.

It is extremely rare for our guests to experience seasickness. Our inland waters are relatively flat compared to big ocean swells that you may have experienced while boating in other locations. But if you are prone to seasickness, you may consider taking preventive medication, such as meclizine.

One thing we cannot control is the weather. On rare occasions, if we feel that the weather will present unsafe or unenjoyable conditions, we will cancel the tour. Passengers will be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
